Malaysian Cub Prix Championship Official Statement Round 10 Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship 2018

Following an incident during the Round 10 of the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cubprix Championship 2018 at Dataran Bandar Penawar on the 15th and 16th of December 2018, it was with great sadness that we have received a notification of the death of a CPlS0 rider competitor number 30, Mohd Hafiz Nor Azman during CPlS0 Final.

The circuit was inspected by Official Circuit Inspector on Friday, 14th of December, 2018 to ensure all safety features and barriers are in placed for the race.

An inquiry will be set up within the next few days after receiving all relevant documents to investigate the incident.

Our wishes to convey our deepest condolence to the family and friends of Mohd Hafiz Nor Azman.

The entire Malaysian Cub Prix family deeply grieves for the loss of a bright young talent, the late Mohd Hafiz Nor Azman, who passed away following an incident at Round 10 on December 16, 2018.

All necessary details, materials and reports pertaining to the incident have been submitted to the relevant authorities – the Malaysian motorsports sanctioning body AAM and the local police force.

Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd, as the race promoters of the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship, together with the organizers the Penang Motor Sports Club, welcome the AAM inquiry to investigate and analyze the matter when all the reports are completed. Both parties will also extend our fullest cooperation in this matter.

The Malaysian Cub Prix Championship would like to take this opportunity to thank the many who have reached out to offer their time and assistance in the wake of the incident.
